Digital certificates

UCT issues digital certificates for short courses. These are hosted on a secure portal, and the link to this portal, along with log in details, will be emailed to each qualifying student.

Please note:
For security reasons, the digital certificate cannot be downloaded or printed.
You will be able to order a hard copy certificate at your own cost by contacting shortcourses@uct.ac.za.
With your consent, third parties (e.g. prospective employers) will be able to view your digital certificates on the portal.

More information about UCT’s digital certificates can be found on the UCT website here: Digital Certificates at UCT.

When signing up for a short course with UCT Law@work, please make sure that:

  1. The name you enter in the Full name to be printed on certificate field on our registration form matches the name on your ID or passport. This is the name that will appear on your digital certificate.
  2. The email address you enter in the Email address field on our registration form is correct. This is the address that the digital certificate portal link will be sent to.

If there are any changes to your name or your email address between the time you sign up for the course and the time you complete the course, please inform us! You can send an email with the updated information to sipho.zuma@uct.ac.za.

After completing a short course with UCT Law@work:

Please allow some time after completing your course for the processing of your certificate.

When your certificate is ready, you will receive an email from Digital Certificate Service with the subject UCT Digital Certificates Portal: records issued. This email will contain instructions for viewing your digital certificate on the secure portal.

If you experience any technical issues with the digital certificate portal, please email shortcourses@uct.ac.za or view the instructions at Digital Certificates at UCT.
