Very few sentences issued are ever served out in their entirety. This is standard criminal justice practice globally, not just in South Africa, writes Kelly Phelps, senior lecturer in Criminal Justice at UCT.

This month, the Faculty of Law graduated four PhDs, all members of the academic staff.

The finals of the Kader Asmal Moot Court Competition took place on 9 May and the UCT team of Natasha Salant and Andrew Attieh came second and third respectively.
