Assoc Prof Jacqui Yeats, who runs the Advanced Company Law course, believes students should get to know their classmates outside of the classroom - and organised a breakfast event for just this purpose.
Prof Yeats' LLM students come from a number of different countries and are at different stages in their academic and career development. Many are already employed in the legal, accounting, public or financial sectors whilst others are full-time students. This diversity provides a rich source of shared experiences and insights resulting in lively debate once the students get to know one another better and become more confident classroom participants. Informal social gatherings like the breakfast pictured above help to accelerate this process, thereby enhancing the academic experience for everyone.
