ALL POSTGRADUATE REGISTRATION QUERIES must be emailed to lawreg-pg@uct.ac.za – those sending queries to any other email address will experience a delay in getting a response.
STUDENT ADVISORS: Students seeking curriculum advice may book a session with a student advisor. The link to the booking form will be made availabe in January 2026.
Orientation Programme for 2026 (for all postgrads)
The Orientation Programmes for Postgrad Law students (PGDip, LLM, MPhil and PhD) will be made available in January - please check back. New students will be informed of programme dates by email.
Topics include, amongst others:
- Getting to know your Dean & Deputy Dean
- Student perspectives on the School for Advanced Legal Studies
- Navigating UCT systems (eg. IT, registration etc)
- Choosing between research tasks and a mini-dissertation
- Pertinent aspects in respect of the dissertation, supervisors, and the all-important Memorandum of Understanding
- Getting to know the Law Library
