Bio

Giles White is a senior advisor to Webber Wentzel in executing its Africa strategy. He also advises and gives talks to clients on corporate governance matters. Prior to joining Webber Wentzel in 2015, he worked at Linklaters for almost 20 years as a banking and international finance partner and had roles as global head of the firm's finance and projects division and Asia managing partner. Giles was general counsel and a main board director at the London and Singapore listed Asian conglomerate, Jardine Matheson, from 2009 to 2015. He was a director of Matheson & Co., Ltd (a member of the Jardine Matheson Group) until 2024. Giles is currently an adjunct associate professor at the University of Cape Town lecturing on corporate governance in the law faculty

• Admitted solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong

• Admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa
