Jane Franco
Jane is the Director of Service (Professional) Courses which we offer to non-law students. Jane joined the Law Faculty as a lecturer in the Department of Commercial Law in 2000. During her time in the department, she has also worked as a Research and Training Associate at the Law Race and Gender Research Unit where she co-authored a book, Ethical Issues for Magistrates which was a joint initiative of the Magistrates Commission, Justice College in Pretoria and the Canada - South Africa Justice Linkage Project and ran several training workshops around the country for magistrates on ethical issues.
She has also published in the areas of judicial independence and insolvency. Jane has lectured undergraduate (Business Law 1 and 11), LLB and LLM levels in the following areas: the law of insolvency and secured transactions, contract; sale and lease, National Credit Act, banking and negotiable instruments and insurance.
