The Law Faculty's Endowment Fund Scholarships - Stories of Success

Do you remember what it was like when you weren’t sure what your post-matric options were?  When being a qualified LLB seemed like a distant dream?

For many young South Africans today, prospects of studying after matric are severely limited. Competition is extremely tough for the limited number of places at South African tertiary institutions, and money to cover the cost of fees, accommodation, and other core costs incurred while studying is often an insurmountable challenge in spite of the new National Students Financial Aid Scheme programme.

But the UCT Faculty of Law’s Excellence in Law campaign has started changing that!  Excellence in Law is primarily about ensuring that there is a solid and enduring scholarship fund for Law students requiring financial support. This is not just a “nice” idea.  Rather, the Excellence in Law fund ensures our resilience - and support for our students - well into the future.

Stories of success from the Faculty’s scholarship students

It is wonderful to hear from Law students who have been awarded Scholarships through the Faculty - and it is our aim to keep in touch with every single scholarship student, and to keep up with their careers and achievements.  We provide here a few stories of scholarship success - be inspired!
