The Law Faculty had a wonderfully large cohort of graduates who were awarded their degrees on 16 July 2021, across the LLB, the PGDip, the LLM, the MPhil and the PhD degree programmes. Well done to all of you!
The LLB Grad Celebration
The LLB event hosted by the Faculty was facilitated by Deputy Dean Dr Kathy Idensohn and, in addition to wise and encouraging words from Dean of Law Professor Danwood Chirwa, the programme also included a speech from Danelle Plaatjies, Law Students Council President 2019 - 2020.

The Postgraduate Graduation Celebration
The Postgraduate event hosted by the Faculty was facilitated by Deputy Dean Prof Johann Hattingh. In addition to the Dean's speech, each of the supervisors of the PhDs awarded on this day gave input on their student/s and their PhD research.
At this celebration, the Dean and Faculty staff recognised the following degrees being awarded:
- 9 postgraduate diplomas
- 127 Masters degrees – including Master of Laws; Master of Laws in Commercial Law, in Dispute Resolution; in Environmental Law; in Intellectual Property Law; in Labour Law; in Marine and Environmental Law, in Shipping Law and in Tax Law; along with a number of Master of Philosophy degrees being conferred.
- 11 Doctoral degrees.
