Each TA is allocated to one of the three Departments in the Law

Faculty: Private Law, Public Law and Commercial Law. Please clearly indicate your preference as between these departments in your application.

These are twelve-month contract posts, running from 1 February 2018 to 31 January 2019.

However, provided your performance is satisfactory it may be possible to extend your contract for a further twelve months. Remuneration for a teaching assistant in their first year is currently R11900 per month. TAs who undertake further study are fully responsible for their tuition fees but may qualify for a discount subject to the university rules.
