UCT PhD student appointed to Justice Ministry in Ghana
Ms Diana Asonaba Dapaah, a PhD student in the UCT Law Faculty, has been appointed as as one of the two Deputies for the Office of Attorney General and Minister of Justice in Ghana.
Ms Dapaah has now been sworn into Office by HE the President of Ghana to support the Attorney General, Mr Godfred Yeboah Dame. Ms. Dapaah is currently a lecturer in the Law Faculty at Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration; is the Vice President, Ghana ADR Hub; and is Senior Associate, at Sam Okudzeto & Associates - and she has more than 10 years experience in practice.
Ms Dapaah has been called to the Bar in both Ghana and in the USA (New York), and has provided training in human rights and corporate governance to judges, lawyers and others in Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
In addition, Ms Dapaah is currently pursuing her PhD at UCT Law, under the supervision of Professor Danwood Chirwa (Dean of the Faculty), focused on business-related human rights and the Sustainable Development Goals
