Global Health Law Conference
The world's leading scholars in global health law convene at UCT Law Faculty for one day in April to discuss emerging issues in the field.
Professor Danwood Chirwa, Dean of Law at UCT, is pleased to announce that the Faculty is hosting this important gathering in partnership with York University's Global Strategy Lab, the University of Geneva's Faculty of Law, the University of North Carolina's Gillings School of Global Public Health, and the University of Toronto's Dalla Lana School of Public Health.
The keynote address will be made by Sandra Liebenberg, H.F. Oppenheimer Chair in Human Rights Law and Distinguished Professor of Law, Stellenbosch University, and member of the United Nations Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
The exciting day of deliberation kicks off with a keynote address from Professor Sandra Liebenberg, H.F. Oppenheimer Chair in Human Rights Law and Distinguished Professor of Law, Stellenbosch University, and member of the United Nations Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. Three panels will then follow on questions central to global health law, including:
- South Africa's Role in Informing Health and Human Rights
- Health, Ethics and Non-State Actors
- Global Health Security Governance.
