Richard Calland, director of the Democratic Governance and Rights Unit, has been appointed to the World Bank's Independent Access to Information Appeals' Board. This is a three-person board to which people can submit appeals when requests for documents made pursuant to the World Bank's (new, 2010) Information Disclosure Policy are declined. It also includes the former Scottish Information Commissioner, Kevin Dunion.
