IMEL Co-Hosts Fisheries Crime Symposium
IMEL, together with MA-RE (Marine Research Institute) and INTERPOL's Project Scale, held a Fisheries Crime Symposium at the Faculty of Law, University of Cape Town, on 9 July 2013. The Symposium sought to draw together international, regional and domestic experts in order to discuss the challenges and opportunities for improving fisheries compliance and enforcement. Those presenting papers at the Symposium included representatives from IMEL (UCT), NMMU, INTERPOL and various environmental law consultants and fisheries consultants.
