South Africa's government needs to accelerate and expand its renewable energy programme to avoid Eskom's load shedding woes, says energy sector specialist Hilton Trollip. Eskom announced the implementation of Stage 2 load shedding on Monday evening after eight unit breakdowns at eight different power stations within a 24 hour period.
