Invitation to Research Workshop

Cannabis Africana: Drugs and Development in Africa, will be hosting a hybrid workshop at the University of Cape Town (South Africa) on 21 November 2022. The project focuses on the nexus between drugs and development in four African countries - South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Nigeria.

The morning session will discuss our research project, recent cannabis-related legislative and policy changes in various African countries, lessons that can be learnt from each, including the implications for agrarian change. The afternoon session will focus on the methods and ethical issues in the study of illicit substances like drugs.
