Annette Hubschle presents on the fight against the illegal wildlife trade in the Seychelles
At the request of the Eastern and Southern African Anti-Money Laundering Group (ESAAMLG) Annette Hubschle was asked to provide her expertise at the 4th ESAAMLG AML/CFT Public-Private Sector Dialogue (PPSD) in the Seychelles from the 7th to 8th September 2018.
The dialogue was attended by regional and international regulators and policy-makers, financial sector and banking representatives as well as members of civil society.
Participants discussed the prospects for derisking in the ESAAMLG region, tackling money laundering associated with the illegal wildlife trade and the challenges associated with implementing AML/CFT requirements relating to new technologies in payment systems.
Annette spoke about the prospects for ‘follow the money’ methodologies in the fight against the illegal wildlife trade.
