Emma Lecavalier

Emma Lecavalier is a doctoral candidate and Vanier Scholar in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on cities and global climate and environmental governance. She has been a Research Assistant with the Environmental Governance Lab since 2016 and is a Research Fellow at the Global Policy Institute at Durham University. She was formerly the Deputy Editor of Global Policy: Next Generation. Emma is a research fellow in the Global Risk Governance programme, University of Cape Town.

Prior to her doctoral studies, Emma spent two years as a research fellow with the University of Cape Town in South Africa examining the drivers of sustainable energy policy in China, India, and South Africa. She holds an MPhil in International Relations from the University of Oxford and a BA (Hons) in Political Science and Global Development from Western University.
