African Judges Grapple with Environmental Law and Climate Change Law
Sandy Paterson was recently commissioned by the Judicial Institute for Africa to run a week-long course for 25 judges drawn from 13 different African countries focussing on Environmental Law and Climate Change Law. The course took place in Magaliesberg from 22-26 September 2022. The judges spent three days grappling with the form, nature and scope of environmental law before spending two days focussing on climate change law, with a special emphasis being placed on the rapid rise and key trends relevant to climate change litigation.
