IMEL Welcomes Back Students Face-to-Face
After two long years of online-teaching format owing to the impacts of the Covid-19 virus, IMEL was very happy to welcome back this year’s cohort of post-graduate students into the classroom setting. The positive impact this had on the learning process, level of student engagement and general joy was very evident to all. Those first back were the students attending the initial week-long teaching block for the Principles of Environmental Law Course. This year’s cohort includes students from South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Kenya and France and during the week they engaged in topics including the foundational principles underpinning environmental law, human rights and the environment, environmental governance and environmental planning. The students are now currently on the correspondence component of the course and they are set to return to the classroom setting for their second week-long teaching block in May.
