The Institute of Marine and Environmental Law hosted fifteen judges from the Federal High Court of Nigeria who were on a vocational visit to South Africa in August. The judges, whose judicial purview extends to determining marine disputes, attended a series of lectures on South African state practice relating to International Maritime Boundaries (presented by Ms Micha Lau) and Admiralty Jurisdiction (presented by Associate Professor Graham Bradfield). The Nigerian delegation, which included the Chief Judge of the Federal Court, Hon Justice Ibrahim Auta, were then taken on a walking tour of the UCT campus.
