IUCN World Conservation Congress
Sandy Paterson recently had the opportunity to participate in the IUCN World Conservation Congress held in September at Jeju, a small island situated off the South Korea mainland. The Congress, attended by over 8000 conservationists, policymakers and scholars, is the largest grouping of its kind and is held every four years.
An invitee of the IUCN Environmental Law Centre (Bonn Germany), Sandy participated in three workshops aimed at raising interest in connectivity conservation law – specifically the draft Concept Paper on the Legal Aspects of Connectivity Conservation and an array of case studies which illustrate its possible practical realisation (for further information on these documents see our research tab).
Sandy also participated in several workshops of the IUCN Commission of Environmental Law and the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas.
