Suzall Timm

Research Fellow

Suzall Timm is a Research Fellow in the Global Risk Governance Programme. She is a lecturer in the Department of Anthropology and Development Studies at the University of Johannesburg. She is currently the convener of the DSI/NRF/CSIR Chair in Waste and Society’s Webinar Series and a research collaborator with the Chair in Waste and Society. In 2019 she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Wits University in the Lessons from Waste Picker Integration Initiatives - Development of Evidence-Based Guidelines to Integrate Waste Pickers into South African Municipal Waste Management Systems (CSIR/DST Project). Suzall completed her PhD in 2015. Her research dissertation was entitled; Modalities of Regulation in the Informal Economy: A Study of Waste Collectors in Cape Town.
