Shazia Sader

Supervising Attorney and Head of Detention & Rights Clinic

Shazia Sader is an attorney of the High Court of South Africa. She joined the Unit in 2017. Shazia is a Supervising Attorney and currently leads the Unit in its Detention, Deportation & Rights Intervention programme. She obtained an LLB (summa cum laude) from the University of the Western Cape and has completed her LLM (Human Rights Law) thesis topic: Childhood Statelessness at the University of Cape Town. Shazia is involved in strategic litigation, training of stakeholders and research. She is also interested in pursuing her PhD in the future.
