The South African Constitution provides for public participation and access to legislative process and ensuring that public opinion is considered in decision making. One of the ways that advocates for refugees can make their voices heard is through submissions made to government institutions on legislation, rules, and policy decisions.Over the years the unit has made the following submissions:
