From April 16 to April 25, the Judicial Service Commission will be interviewing candidates for judicial vacancies on the Supreme Court of Appeal and various High Courts. Although the interviews for a vacancy on the Constitutional Courts have been postponed until June, these interviews are the precursor to some significant appointments.

In addition to two posts on the Supreme Court of Appeal, vacancies for the position of Judge President of the North and South Gauteng High court (the largest and busiest High court in the country), and for Deputy Judge President of the KwaZulul - Natal High Court, must be filled. The DGRU has prepared a research report setting out the judicial track record of the nominees, as well as a submission to the JSC concerning the interview process.
