East Mediterranean Hydrocarbons: Geopolitical and Industry perspectives, markets and export Routes, and Regional Cooperation
22 November 2013

Clement Sefa-Nyarko, an intern at the Centre of Criminology, participated in the 2013 Annual Conference of the Cyprus Centre of the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO).

The title of the conference was: 'East Mediterranean Hydrocarbons: Geopolitical and Industry perspectives, markets and export Routes, and Regional Cooperation’. The conference brought together policy makers and international experts to discuss the possible impact of the discovery of hydrocarbons on the island on the long-standing rift between northern Cyprus and the Republic of Cyprus.

They explored all available options for making the hydrocarbons serve as a medium for achieving the long-awaited unification on the island. Sefa-Nyarko participated in both the conference and a workshop of core working group of hydrocarbon experts, which was convened on the sidelines.

These two events took place on the 14th and 15th of November 2013, in the capital city of Cyprus, Nicosia.
