Global Crisis and the Green New Deal: Opportunity or Chimera?

The Environment Lab at the Centre of Criminology, UCT, together with Project 90 by 2030 held another seminar, on the 3rd September, as part of the Environmental Security Seminar Series for 2009, titled Global Crisis and the Green New Deal: Opportunity or Chimera?

The key speaker, Prof. Mark Swilling, is Division Head of Sustainable Development at the School of Public Management and Planning at the University of Stellenbosch and is also Academic Director of the Sustainability Institute.

The respondents were Dr Ralph Hamann Senior Researcher at the Environmental Evaluation Unit at UCT and Dr Russell Wise, Editor of Mind Shift magazine, 2008 Recipient of the SAB Environmental Journalist of the Year Award and Associate Consultant with Incite Sustainability. The debate was facilitated by Ms Monica Graaff.
