This course offers experienced judicial officers and judicial educators the opportunity to deepen their understanding of adult learning principles, facilitation skills, and training design specific to a judicial context.
Drawing on educational psychology and proven pedagogical methods, it combines theoretical frameworks with hands-on practical exercises to equip participants with the skills to design, deliver, and evaluate effective and impactful training for their judicial peers.
Participants will develop the confidence and competence to become lead trainers within their jurisdictions, enhancing the overall quality of judicial education.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Apply principles of adult learning and group psychology to design engaging and effective judicial training programmes.
Utilise a range of advanced facilitation skills to manage content, structure, process, and group dynamics in a training setting.
Design and conduct a thorough judicial training needs analysis to ensure relevance and impact.
Develop and deliver powerful training presentations and manage interactive learning sessions for judicial audiences.
Create and implement robust methods for evaluating judicial training effectiveness.
Sitting judges and magistrates with a passion for judicial education;
Judicial trainers and heads of judicial academies;
Court administrators and legal educators are responsible for developing judicial capacity.
Participants should have substantial legal or judicial experience and a demonstrated interest in mentoring and teaching.
Interactive workshops on facilitation skills, presentation techniques, and managing group dynamics;
Hands-on group assignments to design and practice delivering judicial training sessions;
Expert-led sessions on adult learning psychology and judicial training needs analysis;
Practical exercises in training evaluation and feedback methodologies;
Peer-to-peer learning and constructive feedback in a collaborative, residential setting.
