Our work is focused on the former homeland areas and as such we work mainly in five provinces: KwaZulu - Natal, North West, Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga and Limpopo. LARC is committed to a collaborative way of working and we place great value on our partnerships. Our work relies on the longstanding partnerships that we have with a number of community based organisations (CBOs), rural NGOs and community activists who make up the Alliance for Rural Democracy.

In terms of partnerships with other academic and legal institutions and scholars, LARC draws on a well established relationships with PLAAS (UWC) and the Legal Resources Centre. We continue to work with leading local and interational scholars in understanding local problems, these scholars donate their time to the reference groups that support and help to provide direction in relation to our work on land, mining and governance.
